Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, plus a day away.

Alpha is designed primarily for people who aren't churchgoers. People attend for a variety of reasons  some want to investigate whether God exists, others may have attended church occasionally but feel they have never really understood the  basics of the Christian faith.

There is no charge for attending the Alpha course, though you may, if you

wish, contribute towards the cost of the food.

Alpha @ the Bridge

We begin each week with a meal together in the Lounge  a chance to relax, chat and get to know others in the group.

Then after tea or coffee we move to comfortable chairs and watch a DVD of that week's talk. Each week the talk looks at different aspects of the Christian faith. This is followed by a no-holds-barred open and honest discussion in which you can say as much or as little as you want. We discuss many serious issues but there are

also lots of laughs.

Here’s what some of our latest Alpha Group have said:

The Alpha Course taught me more about living ....than any books!" - Estelle

“At Alpha I found peace and friendship. I was made very welcome and it felt like a family” - Dawn

“For me Alpha was a wonderful opportunity to ask questions and find answers for myself. It was a time of fun and friendship where I got to know people from different backgrounds, building new relationships and expanding waistlines! There was a lovely atmosphere, and I was allowed to go at my own pace.” - Debbie

“Before Alpha I had never been to church other than for weddings and funerals. I reached a point in my life where I wanted to find out what 'more' there was. I found the first Alpha session very welcoming and as the weeks passed I grew more attached to the group and comfortable in sharing my opinions. I haven't had a
big conversion and still feel at an early stage in my journey but can't go back to where I was.” - Pete
